Falling on Deaf Ears

Home Community

The idiom “fall on deaf ears” means that your words, requests, or pleas are being ignored or not taken seriously by the person or people you are addressing. It indicates that what was said is disregarded or not taken into account. This expression often refers to something a person does not wish to hear, such as advice or reproach, and has been in use since the fifteenth century.

Censored, ignored, and often viewed as the enemy by those who hold power, many individuals in the community feel increasingly marginalized and disenfranchised. This sense of exclusion can lead to feelings of isolation and despair among those who are already struggling to make their voices heard.

More to come on this pressing issue, as well as thoughtful suggestions and effective strategies to address and overcome these significant challenges.
