What happened to the official vote that was promised to us? The last time I recall discussing this matter, the board, while I was actively serving in my capacity, made the decision to vote on the closure of the gates. A special email was sent out to all members, and we were all informed that the decision to close it was officially approved. Since that is not the correct way to obtain a membership vote. I assumed we would see a vote in the next annual package. This was not supposed to be the final outcome, the last two annual package votes resulted in a majority decision to keep the gates open during the day, specifically from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. It’s perplexing and concerning that such a significant change seems to have occurred without proper follow-up or further communication regarding the promises we were made to do another vote during the annual package.
Given that the two previous annual package votes overwhelmingly resulted in keeping them open, I cannot help but suspect that it was not presented to our residents in a manner that fully communicated the implications of the decisions, because this is the way our board wanted it. Furthermore, the board’s voting results clearly indicated that Randy and Dale were the only ones who actively supported keeping them open, raising concerns about the transparency and inclusivity of the decision-making process for our residents.
"With so many homes currently available for sale in the park, I firmly believe that our gates should be opened at least during the peak season when the majority of our residents are present in the park, as this would greatly enhance visibility and accessibility. As Randy mentioned, and as most residents I've talked to agree, 'Visiting the community sells most of our homes.' It’s crucial to create an inviting atmosphere that encourages prospective buyers to explore our offerings."
